Mobile phone scam - Ignore it at your own peril!

This is a new scam.... best to be aware about it.....let your family
members know about this.

This msg has been sent to me by someone known to me and following is the story of the victim in her own words:

Dear all

I cannot stop myself from sharing this with all of you.

Its all started when I received a call from someone claiming that he
was from my mobile service provider and he asked me to shutdown my
phone for 2 hours for 3G update to take place. As I was rushing for a
meeting, I did not question and shutdown my cell phone.

After 45 minutes I felt very suspicious since the caller did not even
introduce his name. I quickly turned on my cell phone and I received
several calls from my family members and the others were from the
number that had called me earlier - 3954380.

I called my parents and I was shocked that they sounded very worried
asking me whether I am safe. My parents told me that they had received
a call from someone claiming that they had me with them
and asking for money to let me free. The call was so real and my
parents even heard 'my voice' crying out loud asking for help. My
parent was at the bank waiting for next call to proceed for money
transfer. I told my parents that I am safe and asked them to lodge a
police report.

Right after that I received another call from the guy asking me to
shutdown my cell phone for another 1 hour which I refused to do and
hung up. They keep calling my cell phone until the battery had run
down. I myself lodged a police report and I was informed by the
officer that there were many such scams reported. MOST of the cases
reported that the victim had already transferred the money! And it is
impossible to get back the money.

Be careful as this kind of scam might happened to any of us!!! Those guys are so professional and
very convincing during calls. If you are asked to shut down your cell
phone for updates by the service provider, ASK AROUND! Your family or
friends might receive the same call.

Be Safe and Stay Alert!

Please pass around to your family and friends!

Convert your cell phone/ mobile phone into money making machine

Now earn money for just receiving sms on your mobile phone. Believe me I have already received a cheque from mginger. Read the following for more:

mGinger is a new concept in the advertising world. You get paid for reading sms ads on your mobile phone. How does mGinger work?Once you signup up with mGinger, you will start receiving sms advertisements on your mobile phone. For each ad that you receive ,you will be paid 20 paise. You will receive a maximum of 10 msgs per day. If you want you can receive lesser number of ads also. But the fun starts when you start referring your friend to mGinger. For each referral you add you get Rs.2 instantly. Further, for your referrals you receive 10 paise for each ad that they receive. Similarly, for each of the friends that your referrals refer, you get paid 5 paise for each ad. When you consider the Geometric progression, the amount that you can make in a month is quite considerable. Will I be dumped with ads?Apparently no. The mGinger team seems to be playing very decent. You can limit the number of ads you receive per day and not more than 10 in any case. You can decide the time during which you want to receive them. You can choose to receive ads only for the products that interest you.

So what are you waiting for just signup by clicking at the banner in Red here below:

Problems in Apple Ipad!

Apple claims that it has sold of over 300,000 iPads on first day in India. Good sale is expected to continue throughout the year. But after hundreds of reviews of all praises by experts, users are soon pointing out the problems faced in the new device.

After series of complaints by the users of weak Wi-Fi signal another fault has come forward. It seems that iPad is having serious overheating issues. CNET reports, "PC Magazine editor Zach Honig posted on Twitter that he took his brand new iPad out in the sun in New York City and ten minutes later it shut down with the message, "iPad needs to cool down before you can use it." Honig stuck his iPad in the fridge and it was fine a few minutes later. As hilarious as it may sound, this will be a serious problem. Imagine if this is happening in New York heat, what will happen in countries like India.

Experts have discovered that the iPad's operating temperature is 32 degrees to 95 degrees F (0 to 35 C) when running or up to 113 degrees when off. The same is true for the iPhone, but the iPad, due to its size, appears to attract a lot more heat a lot more quickly.

Now this too much to be concerned about if you are putting money in it.

Basic Tips to Save Electricity

This are some of the basic tips to save electricity which usually get ignored, but can save upto 30% electricity:

- Set the temperature of your airconditioners to 25 or 26 degrees.

- switch off your mobile phones at night or when you go to sleep. Just imagine if u have 4 cell phones at ur place 4 X 7 sleeping hrs X 365 days saves lots of battery and eventually ur electricity.

- Try to receive all your calls on landline number when you are at home or office place. Mobiles were invented for being used when you travel. This will not only save electricity but also saves you from mobile radiations.

- Set your desktop or laptop to sleep mode with screen going blank within 5 minutes of unused time. This really works guys believe me this has been tested.

- Avoid using electrical cooking gas and water heaters, replace them with ones working on natural gas or LPG gas. It will save you a lot of money after initial capital cost.

- Exhaust fans in toilets and kitchens are the most likely to left on without purpose. pls avoid installing them and if installed switch off if not wanted.

- Use solar chargers to recharge your mobiles.

- Instead of using electric water purifiers at home, drink water that is boiled on gas stoves its much safer than that from purifier.

- Avoid extentions and spykguards that have small indicator lights.

- Never keep your electrical equipments on standby mode such as ACs, TVs, music systems, etc, as the standby lights provided on them consume electricity upto 3 units per month.

- While buying electrical equipments just check for energy star logo and its rating on it. Higher the rating higher the equipment is energy efficient and higher the savings.

- If possible get your building or society to install common solar water heaters for all the flats in the building. They will save a lot of electricity.

- The temperature of the refridgerator is always ignored. It should be adjusted to minimum in summers and maximum during winters. It saves amazing amount of electricity.

- At last it goes without saying pls switch off the main switch when u are off for a long weekend or vacation.
